Antonis Markou is a Certified Public Accountant (Reg. No. 19901) in Greece and a member of the Accounting Standardization and Auditing Committee (ELTE) and the Body of Certified Public Accountants (SOEL). He is also a Chartered Accountant (Reg. No. 5990129) of the Institute of Chartered Auditors of England and Wales (ICAEW) and holds a Professional License as a First Class Accountant. He is a graduate of the School of Law and Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Cardiff, Wales, UK, and a postgraduate degree from Hellenic College of Education Institute.
He has 27 years of professional experience as a Certified Public Accountant, with 25 years in Deloitte Greece. In Deloitte Greece, he was a Partner, head of the Audit and Assurance services department in Northern and Central Greece, and Audit Innovation Leader.
Antonis Markou has significant experience, in the control of multinational companies and large Greek Groups, in the control and application of Greek and International Accounting Standards (IFRS) in various sectors (industry, trade, tourism, services, casino, education, banks, concessions, construction, pharmaceutical companies, etc.). He also has significant experience conducting Internal Audits and conducting pre-agreed procedures and other due diligence services.
He has been a visiting professor (postgraduate program) at the International University of Greece and the American College of Thessaloniki "Anatolia".
He is a member of the Audit Committee of the American College of Thessaloniki "Anatolia", is a member of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Hellenic Association of Industries (SVE), and the Hellenic Chamber of Commerce.
He speaks English and French.
